School of Psychology & Counseling

The School of Psychology & Counseling provides graduate programs for new and experienced practitioners in the field of counseling. The School welcomes adult learners and serves a demographic of older than average graduate students who arrive with a wide range of non-traditional experience in counseling and related fields.

Our flagship Mental Health Counseling programs provide students the very best practical and theoretical exposure.  Students have the opportunity to focus their studies in several areas of preference including but not limited to the options listed under School of Psychology & Counseling Certificates.  Contact the School's academic advisor to learn more about the available options.

Graduate Programs Offered

Most of our academic programs prepare students for licensure or other professional credentials, which are becoming increasingly necessary for many counseling careers.  Our programs also support related careers that do not require licensure by augmenting degrees with specific concentrations.

  • Counseling Psychology degree may include Addiction Counseling, Trauma Studies and Geriatric Mental Health
  • Mental Health Counseling degree may include Addiction Counseling, Trauma Studies and Geriatric Mental Health and Marriage & Family Therapy
  • School Adjustment and Mental Health Counseling degree may include Addiction Counseling and Trauma Studies.

The School of Psychology & Counseling strives to cover both the academic requirements and the supervised clinical practice hours required by the State and professional associations that govern professional credentialing. There may be additional post-graduate requirements such as exams and further clinical experience.  Please note that state regulations are subject to change which may require Cambridge College to modify programs accordingly.  Program chairs are available to help students understand changes; however, students are responsible for insuring that their program of study complies with all requirements for licensure /certification.
