Encore and the Greater Boston Gaming Career Institute

The Greater Boston Gaming Career Institute was created by Cambridge College in collaboration with Encore Boston Harbor, under the leadership of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.  The Institute was designed to train qualified, employment ready gaming professionals to start careers as full- and part-time dealers at the new five-star Encore Boston Resort and Casino that opened in June 2019.  Over 500 individuals have been trained with a placement rate of over 95% for employment. MGCC/Mel King Institute and the Business Development Certificate

This partnership, between Cambridge College, the Mel King Institute for Community Building and the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation (MGCC), was formed to shape an innovative program that will educate small business development officers throughout the Commonwealth.  The program will help accelerate the startup and growth of small businesses from under-invested communities served by MGCC.  Offered over a six day training period at our Charlestown campus, the courses will be taught by faculty from Cambridge College, practitioners in the field and by attorneys from the Lawyers for Civil Rights organization which provides free legal support to entrepreneurs.
