Dr. Charles Anderson Joins The Dimock Center

The Dimock Center Selects Dr. Charles Anderson as New President & CEO

ROXBURY, MA – The Board of Directors of The Dimock Center has selected Charles Anderson, MD, MPH, MBA of Newton, MA as the new President and CEO of the 159-year-old organization. Anderson started his role at Dimock today. Nationally recognized as a model for the delivery of comprehensive health and human services in an urban community, Dimock provides high-quality care to Boston’s underserved neighborhoods, serving more than 19,000 people annually.

Anderson has served in a wide variety of roles over the past 25 years in the Boston-area health care community, including co-chairing the committee on Building Strong Families and Communities as part of the State of Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care’s Birth to School-Age Task Force.

“The Dimock Center has been a trusted health care partner in Roxbury for more than 150 years. I am honored to be part of an organization that has been focused on correcting historic health inequities since its founding in 1862, especially as this pandemic has exacerbated inequities and health disparities in communities of color,” said Anderson.

Growing up in Buffalo, NY, Anderson was inspired by his father who was a family practice physician and community organizer, and by his mother who used her masters in economics while working for the gas company to educate and advocate for vulnerable members of their community to not lose their heat during the winter season. Anderson gained an early appreciation for the interplay between health, the environment, education, access to care and economic development and will bring this foundational knowledge to support the mission of The Dimock Center to heal and uplift patients, families and the community.

Anderson joins The Dimock Center from Exaltare Capital Partners where he served as Co-Founder and Health and Wellness Operating Affiliate. Prior to founding Exaltare Capital Partners, Anderson was Vice President of Corporate and Business Development for the $1.5B, Caritas Christi Healthcare System, and a Manager in the Healthcare Practice at Deloitte.

Anderson received his Bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, an MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, an MD from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and an MBA from the Boston University Questrom School of Business.

Behavioral Health Services — individual and group therapy, inpatient, residential and outpatient substance use treatment and recovery services, residential and supportive services for adults with developmental disabilities, shelter and supportive services for families who are homeless.
