Assistant/Associate Professor, SOPC

JOB SUMMARY

This is a full time Core Faculty position in the graduate School of Psychology and Counseling with responsibilities in the M.Ed. and CAGS programs. Responsibilities include: teaching, academic advising, applied scholarship, active clinical experience, and institutional service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Teach core courses (face to face and/or hybrid) in SOPC
  • Student engagement including, but not limited to, participation in recruitment activities, orientation and academic advising
  • Maintain a program of applied scholarly activity, including maintaining an active clinical/counseling license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Institutional service as specified in the AFT Faculty Union Contract.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have a master’s degree in the field of Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field. A doctoral degree in those fields is strongly preferred. Applicants must have an active LMHC license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, five years of teaching experience, at least five years of clinical experience with a record of applied scholarly activity. Rank is commensurate with experience.

The graduate programs in SOPC at Cambridge College offers concentrations in School Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Addictions Counseling, Geriatric Counseling, Holistic Counseling, Pastoral Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, and Trauma Counseling. The ideal candidate will have graduate teaching experience and clinical practice with diverse populations.
