About Carson Berglund


Carson Berglund brings to this role an impressive professional background with over twenty-five years of experience in development in the non-profit sector. He most recently served as Vice President, Development at Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) in Boston, MA, where he helped to grow the budget from $6 million in 2007 to over $14 million in 2015 and played a key role in developing signature JVS programs such as Bridges to College and Pay for Success.

Prior to JVS, Carson worked at the Boston History & Innovation Collaborative and Jobs for the Future. As the Director of Development & Policy for the Boston History & Innovation Collaborative, he led overall fundraising and policy-related activities for a non-profit organization dedicated to sustaining Boston’s 400-year tradition of innovation. At Jobs for the Future, Carson secured funds to grow and sustain major national and regional initiatives for a leading national non-profit focused on education reform and workforce development, helping the organization grow its budget from $5 million in 1999 to over $14 million in 2006. 
 
Carson’s additional experience as an independent fundraising consulting and past background in program development and research for a variety of national and civic organizations has provided a strong foundation for engaging prospective funders and helping to design effective programs.
 
Carson holds a Bachelor of Arts, Government from the University of Texas, Austin and held a graduate fellowship in Political Theory at the Johns Hopkins University Department of Political Science, Baltimore, MD.
